Back to First responders main pageThere are two big pieces of news - the purchase of a second defibrillator and the extended area coverage. We have been very fortunate in receiving a large donation from Commendium ( an IT consultancy based in Penrith) . We are very grateful for this income - it has enabled us to purchase a second defibrillator. Now, we have our own defibs in Lazonby and Kirkoswald. We are well on our way towards our aim of having a defib and equipment bag in each centre of population in our area.Speaking of which, our area of operation has now been extended to cover the village of Plumpton and a good length of the A6. We have already attended several patients there and, no doubt, our yellow jackets will be seen there again. As well as thanking Commendium, I would like to thank the following people who have given us smaller but still welcome donations: Mr C Bennison, Mrs P Pottinger, Cumbria Classic Car Club, Mrs E Robson, Marlene and Terry at the Joiner’s Arms and Dr M Sanderson. Our need for income is ongoing – it costs £60 a year to rent a pager and we have 22. This is before we buy a defibrillator or any other equipment. We will be having some more fun(ding) events during the year – plant sales etc so watch this space and the local notice boards.Would you like to join us? We are particularly looking for people in the Great Salkeld and Plumpton areas.Contact me, Elaine Thomson, 898576, for more information.Back to First Responders main page |
